Perhaps you’ll be surprised to learn that the eye behind this wonderful lesson in flower photography is a male: Dutch artist Oer-Wout. His passion for natural beauty in general, and macro photographs of flowers in particular are absolutely remarkable, as is the fact that he’s turned this into a genuine purpose in and of itself. He is highly active in the creative community on DeviantArt, and, although he’s also produced landscapes and other, equally beautiful types of photographs, he always returns to flowers, his first and foremost passion. As with all good photos, here, too the knack is in the lighting first, and only secondarily in the composition and colors—albeit there is much to be said about the intrinsic beauty of fragility that flowers display.
